"This is the first sweater I’ve knitted, and I’m super happy with the end result! The pattern was easy to follow, but I ran into some issues when it came to the yarn the pattern called for.
The suggested wool would cost $168 for a medium sweater (not including shipping), or $70 for a substitute yarn mentioned. Instead, I used three big skeins of Bernat blanket yarn, which was much cheaper at $24. I also used a different needle size to match my yarn choice. Because of those changes I made, I needed to add more rows than the pattern called for, but that wasn’t very difficult to figure out.
I also changed a few other things for personal preference—sized up and lengthened the sleeves, dropped the ribbed sleeve cuffs, and rolled the collar.
I definitely recommend this pattern! :)"
