A bathroom vanity mirror is an integral part of your bathroom decor, and Etsy shops sell unique handmade and vintage bathroom mirrors in all sorts of designs to match your style. Here are some popular types of bathroom vanity mirrors to consider.

  • A bathroom mirror with lights: A lighted bathroom mirror like an LED bathroom mirror shines light towards your face to help you see finer details better when brushing your teeth and putting on makeup. Some bathroom mirrors with lights can change color or dim to add mood lighting to a relaxing bath.
  • Round bathroom mirrors: While many people gravitate towards rectangular mirrors, round bathroom mirrors fit most decor styles and have no sharp edges, which help the bathroom feel cozy and relaxed.
  • Framed bathroom mirrors: Etsy sellers make framed mirrors in just about any color, shape, and finish you can imagine. Adding a frame to a mirror makes it pop and gives it a refined look—almost like a piece of wall art.
  • Oval bathroom mirror: Ovals are elegant and classy with soft edges. Placed vertically, oval mirrors center you in the middle like a portrait.
  • Rectangular bathroom mirror: Rectangles are well suited for modern and minimalist vanities as they both share straight lines and angular designs. Rectangular bathroom mirrors are often big enough to fit two people side by side and are the standard for most bathrooms.
  • Rustic bathroom mirrors: Made for woodlovers everywhere, rustic mirrors are usually framed by wood that complements cabins and cottages as well as farmhouse and rustic interiors.
  • Decorative bathroom mirrors: Looking to define your bathroom’s style? Decorative mirrors are a great anchor point to kick off inspiration and design your space around. They can feature sculptural designs made from metals, ceramic frames, or tempered glass to surround the mirror.

As a general rule of thumb, the mirror should be eye level and around 5 to 10 inches above the faucet, but anywhere that leaves some space between the countertop and the mirror and still allows you to see yourself is ideal. Vanity mirrors tend to look best when they have ample space on all sides and have some element of symmetry.

Your bathroom mirror will generally look best if it is hung above the sink and measures slightly smaller than the width of the vanity. Your mirror should be big enough that you can comfortably see yourself at eye level without needing to slouch or stand on your tippy toes. If you have a large vanity with two sinks, consider two separate mirrors or one extra long mirror to span across the vanity, stopping short of the wall.
